Here comes the end

At the beginning of class when I heard that we had to do a blog, I had no idea when to except. Since, I registered at the last minutes and got in class 10 minutes before the end of class, I was a little lost. When I got home and looked at the video Mr. Santos posted and heard that he gave us full control on our writing assignment, I gave a big sigh of relief. However, when it came to chose a topic to talk about, well that was another story. I had to change my topic a total of three times, I do not want to sound poetic and say that the third time is the charm but in this case, I guess that is pretty much what happened. In this class, I learned a lot. I had and is still pushing myself to work on skills I never quiet perfected during my schooling. It is never too late to learn or work on a skill.

My friend told me a joke one day about how at work one of his client's told him that the reason he became a doctor is because he thought being an accountant was too hard. Whether being an accountant is harder than being a doctor, the reality is that they are equally changing and both require time and dedication and acquire qualification to be any of those two. Not for Profit and Academically Adrift apart they may have been their views, they both stressed the importance of some skills that no matter what major one pursue, they will be needed; writing is the number one and maybe the most important of them all. I can not fool myself and think that just because my major does not require for me to take extensive writing classes I would not need it; reading, writing, critical thinking, analytical thinking and problem solving are all skills that will be required of me for my major or to be successful in the professional world. The class is coming to end but not writing, so I decided to dedicate sometime every week to writing. As much time I spend reading, I will start by spending some of it to writing. Thanks Mr. Santos to have taking the time and help me.
